2 Corinthians 12:7
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn[1] in the flesh, the messenger[2] of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.[3][4]
- â There is no indication that this âthornâ was a sickness. In Paulâs list of hardships (see 2 Corinthians 11:23, 24, 25, 26, 27)
- â The Greek word translated âmessengerâ here in this text, is also rendered âangelâ elsewhere in the New Testament (see Luke 1:13, 2 Corinthians 11:14 and Galatians 4:14).
- â In this verse, Paul made it very clear that this thorn in the flesh was a messenger from satan and not from God.
